Past Events at Bondville Model Village Bridlington.

There have been many past events at Bondville Model Village Bridlington which includes our very popular Alice in Wonderland, Father’s Day, Macmillan Coffee morning and our Easter Egg hunt.

Alice In Wonderland came to Bondville Model Village Bridlington for a second time and it was as much a fun-filled day out for all as it was in our previous year.
Thank you to everyone who came and entered the competitions.

What a fun filled day we had at our Easter Event on Sunday 27th March 2016. Easter bonnets, Easter egg hunt, Tombola stall and colouring Easter pictures for the children and somewhere a big bunny and a little Easter Lamb were around the village giving out treats.

We all love our fathers and you brought them to visit at Bondville Model Village.
Thank you all for visiting and hope to see you again.

Alice In Wonderland came to Bondville Model Village Bridlington  for the celebration of it being 150 years and was a fun-filled day out for all.
It has been 150 years since the children’s classic Alice’s Adventures was written. The novel was written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children.
For a century and a half it has delighted and puzzled us in equal measure. We have fallen down the rabbit hole with Alice, taken tea with her and the Mad Hatter, been maddened by the Cheshire Cat and had to convince the Queen of Hearts that we didn’t steal her tarts!
Alice in Wonderland was first published in 1865 and was inspired by a boat trip that author Lewis Carroll took with some family friends, the Liddell children, down the River Thames in Oxford. He told the youngest daughter, Alice, a story as they rowed along and she begged him to write it down. When he got home that evening he began straight away.
The book, and its sequel Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, have been translated into at least 65 languages, including Cornish and Latin, and countless film and theatre adaptations have been made.
Alice in Wonderland is a book that remains as enchanting as ever, no matter how many times we reread it.

Thank you to all customers that came and supported us at the Macmillan Coffee morning.
